The captain of the NT felt moved. A message from a Uruguayan lady got to the bottom of his heart and the player decided to post it and thank the lady for the courage she transmitted to "overcome difficult moments".
Lugano wrote in social networks: "We thank you for making us feel touched, motivate us and reinforce the goals we have set with messages like yours".
The lady´s name is Belén, she is mother of three girls and she became a widower five years ago, when she lost her husband because of cancer at the age of 39. Back then, she and her daughters who were 3, 7 and 10 saw how the world went into pieces and their dreams got vanished.
"During those months, the four of us went to bed crying. But in June 2010, we started to feel happy again thanks to you, because we had a reason to wake up the following day, we had hope" said Belén in her touching message. "We sat to watch you play, we felt happy, we felt it was worth being alive. Mi daughters remembered how to laugh because of you guys, and I'll be forever grateful".
The text ends with a support message for the National Team: "National Team: I´ll be there with you, I got used to suffer, and to raise from the ashes when everybody was with the calculator (...) Today, after this defeat I repeat: GO URUGUAY!!!!! We believe in YOU!!!!"
