I felt a fire inside... but when the sun went down I chose to go back home. I felt a fire there too, surrounded by people I cherish. This is one of the best pitches on the NEB of Higher Cathedral, one of my favorite routes ever. I climbed it yesterday along with the Galactic, Steck-Salathe, East But of Middle and Braille book.

El reto le llevó 15 horas y media aproximadamente, un tiempo de desgaste físico y mental que lo expuso a que un simple error significara su muerte instantánea. 

"Fue bastante increíble, realmente surrealista, estar solo en la cima de Fitz Roy", dijo Reynolds. "Pero sabía que no podía pasar mucho tiempo allí. Eran las 15:13 horas de la tarde. Me había costado 6 horas y 38 minutos subir. Si pasaba demasiado tiempo allí arriba, iba a terminar en la oscuridad. Sabía que solo la mitad de la escalada estaba hecha ", declaró el deportista a National Geographic.

La desescalada le tomó más tiempo que la subida. Reynolds se salió de la ruta y eso lo obligó a retroceder porque tomar atajos le podría haber causado problemas.
